When making pickled eggs you can't go wrong. They are a staple in our house and we have done several different recipes and they have all been fabulous; however this recipe is super simple and quick and they taste great! We like our pickled eggs sour so we recommend a 2/3 ratio Vinegar and 1/3 Water. Your can use what ever Vinegar you want but we recommend a pickling white vinegar for this recipe. Herbs whether fresh or dried can have many benefits for your flock. You can purchase herbs from your local Supermarket they will have several dried varieties but in smaller packages. They will also carry fresh herbs but depending on where you live it can be hard to get a good selection most of the  year. Also lets not even discuss the price of fresh herbs here in Canada during the winter months. Making your own pumpkin pie is so worth it and very rewarding as well. What an amazing feeling it was at Thanksgiving to serve Pumpkin Pie that we grew right from seed in our very own Garden. The only thing we cheated on was the Pie Crust but in the future I would also like to make that from scratch as well. One of our favorite ways to use our rhubarb is making pie. Nothing beats homemade warm pie fresh from the oven with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. We usually get a harvest of rhubarb in June and again early August and depending on the year I can sometimes get a fall harvest as well.
